Here, at Latina Talks College, we value empowering students with the knowledge and tools to make the best choices for their future. And, preparing for a college degree also means preparing to obtain a career related to that degree. Yet, so many students, especially first-generation college students, are pushed to decide their major and/or career without ever having access to career professionals who can provide valuable insight to what having that specific career even means.
That is why I created Career Chats. The goal of this IG Live series is to allow students to hear from career professionals who look like them, who understand them, and who once were them. During the actual live, I will ask you about your background, your upbringing, your college journey, and delve into the path to your current professional role with more of “a day in the life” approach. The conversation will be casual as I really want students to feel comfortable tuning in and asking questions.
